hey i'm new...yeah...we needs to get this community with more posts....

yup so...i row novice. I did it in the fall and thought it was very very beginners but the summer girls knew how so i felt pretty out of it. But yeah i've caught on and i did some of winter conditioning which was cool but only like 5 novice did it.

So do you guys work on excercise machines when you can? cause i tried, cause i didn't have crew today and wanted to work out, and for some reason it feels so differnt than like...outside working out...almost boring and harder. agree? haha yeah i'm just trying to get some posts.

once you get in a boat the erg is liek a death machine... its so muhc more boring and harder than actually rowing in a boat, adn it doesnt even translate that much into rowing skills.. you could have a 1:30 split but when you get in the boat your timing is way off and your bladework sucks (just to give an example). last spring my team did about two months of erg training when we were watiing for our boathouse to come in, and once we got into the barges (the boathouse never came!) it was like nothing else.

yeah i can't stand the ergs...and the people who can pull a good split don't nessesarily pull harder...unless it's like naturally strong, haha which i haven't been blessed with. but just like working out in a GYM i'm so unmotivated.

i dont mind the gym personally, its the fact that there has to be such a good balance of fluds and food in your system -- if i eat too soon before i erg, or drink too much water, i feel sooo sick. ick! down with ergs!
